I was bummed that I missed out on participating in DABWAHA last week. I had no internet at home during most of the bracket sign-up, and didn’t know about the competition (and damn that horrible storm for knocking out my Internet and making me too busy at work to browse my favorite sites). Bummer! I felt a little better because during my voting, I saw books I was certain would advance just go…nowhere. I guess this is how March Madness fans feel when their brackets are destroyed by the equivalent of “Smooth Talking Stranger,” when they felt sure that “Lead Me On” was going to be victorious. So I would have been done in the first round, anyway.
So I’m really happy to see that the cool people at DABWAHA are offering a second chance competition (entries accepted through March 24, 2010). The prizes aren’t as impressive (as if this matters to me; I just love to enter contests), but I’m just excited that I’ll have the chance to be a part of things BEFORE voting. I’m filling out my bracket now. I have no great hope of success, since I haven’t read most of the books up in this round, but this will be fun anyway!
